In addition, Kelvin serves as the Director for Leadership Development and Alumni Relations at UNCF where he is responsible for the strategic leadership of the student support services division for the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program, a 20-year, $1.6 billion scholarship initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that is the nations largest scholarship program. Prior to joining UNCF in 2011, Kelvin spent a significant portion of his career directly serving students on some of the most diverse college campuses in the country. Having been an active and engaged practitioner active in the field of student affairs and higher education for the last 12 years, Kelvin has been a frequent presenter and facilitator at local, regional and national conferences. Â As a scholar, practitioner and organizational leader, Kelvin is known for his shared leadership approach and his personal and business philosophy and motto, Lead.Motivate.Inspire -- Lead Intelligently, Motivate Intentionally, Inspire Effortlessly. Kelvin serves as a Region II board member for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). His board tenure also include his service to Eastern Connecticut State University Alumni Association from 2008-2015. He has also served as a planning member for the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education (NCORE), and a scholarship reader for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. As a scholar-practitioner, Kelvin earned a bachelor degree in Sport & Leisure Management from Eastern Connecticut State University and the masters degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University and is near completion of a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership at Northeastern University. Kelvin is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and is a native of New Haven, Connecticut.
